4 Reasons Why You Have Bad Skin – And How to Fix It!

Plenty of us women go through bad skin days, weeks, months and years. It seems like a never ending battle to get flawless skin. There’s a whole host of skin problems we have to contend with too. From dry and flaky bits to breakouts. You may be surprised at what is causing your bad skin, however. Here are four common reasons your skin isn’t flawless. And how to fix them all!


  1. Your beauty regime isn’t up to scratch

This is the most common reason and one of the easiest to fix. Do you have a beauty regime in place? That you religiously follow morning and night? If not, then it could be the cause of your bad skin. Even if you do have a beauty regime in place, is it the right one for you? Different types of skin need different types of treatment. Make sure you do your research and are using the right products for your face. It can make such a huge difference, in such a short space of time!

  1. You eat too much junk

Hands up who loves McDonald’s just a little bit too much… Yeah, I thought so! It’s fine to have the occasional junk food treat once in a while. However, if you’re not filling your body with a ton of good stuff, then you could be causing breakouts. Food that is high in sugar can cause acne. Fizzy drinks and greasy foods can too. If you eat too much junk food, then don’t be surprised when it shows up on your face. The best way to combat this problem? Stop eating all that rubbish! It’s fine to treat yourself now and then, but make sure the majority of your diet is balanced and healthy.


  1. You smoke

I’m not going to give you a huge lecture on how bad smoking is for you. Most smokers know what it’s doing to their insides and their bank balance. They may also know what it’s doing to their teeth, their hair and their nails. However, do you know what it’s doing to your skin? Smoking can cause you to age a lot quicker than normal. Meaning sallow, dry and tired looking skin. Find an electronic cigarette shop and kick that nasty habit! Smoking e-cigarettes is great for those who don’t want to go cold turkey, but don’t want to ruin their skin anymore.

  1. You’re not drinking enough water

Water is one of the most beautiful things on the planet! And we’re lucky to have it running from the taps, whenever we need it. It can help you lose weight, it can improve your concentration levels, and it can make your skin better. Not to mention your nails, hair and teeth. If you don’t drink plenty of water, then you could end up with dry, patchy, or flaky skin. Not hot! Dehydrated skin is one of the worst problems. Make sure you’re drinking at least eight glasses of cold, fresh water every single day. You could even make some fruit infused waters to jazz it up. You’d be surprised at what a difference it can make. Oh and cut down on that booze and caffeine. It can cause breakouts!
