Okay, so you’ve decided you want to work towards a great body. And you want to build strength and fitness. Well, this all starts with your diet, and these are my suggestions for the best foods you can eat to achieve this.


Red Meat

Anybody looking to build muscle and get fitter needs to consume plenty of red meat. In fact, this should be top of your shopping list. It’s brilliant for muscle mass, as well as tasting fantastic. Eggs are vital for anyone who wants to get serious about fitness. In fact, they’re one of the best foods you can have because they are almost pure protein. Make sure you try to have a diet that includes a lot of eggs. And if you’re going on those early morning runs make sure you have some eggs, Rocky style! You need to have a large supply of eggs in the home at all times as they are versatile and good for you, and they taste great.


Protein Bar

It’s important to start using protein supplements as much as you can. Protein is essential because it prevents your muscle mass from breaking down. And it gives you strength and energy after a long workout session. Other than eating high protein foods you can use protein bars as well. These are an excellent form of snacking that’s going to benefit you. I always try to carry a couple of these along with the rest of what’s in my gym bag. It means I can enjoy a pre-workout snack that’s going to benefit the work I do during my gym session.

You need to realise that if you want to get fit and strong you need to take it seriously. Building strength and fitness is as much about what you eat as how you work out. And you need to treat your body a little like a car. If you fill it with the wrong fuel, it won’t run as efficiently. The same applies with the food you’re putting in your body.
