Not heading out this Halloween? Here’s an idea for a night in, with added scary movies!
Getting your nails done
A girls night in wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of pampering, so clean your nails, take off any old varnish and prepare for a Halloween themed nail tutorial, with alternating orange and black nails.
Step 1. Start with completely clean nails. Apply one coat of base coat, or clear nail varnish.
Step 2: Once dry, apply one coat of white nail varnish to alternating nails.
Step 3: Once the white varnish is drying, apply your plain black shade to the nails without white varnish on them.
Step 4: Once the white varnish is dry, apply Orange Punch over the top. To make light, pastel or bright colours even bolder, use a white varnish underneath, and the colour will be much bolder – and you won’t need to use as many coats!
Step 5: Once the black has dried, apply Goth over the top to add some Halloween sparkle.
Step 6: Apply a second coat of colour if needed.
Step 7: Apply a clear topcoat, or a coat of coloured glitter if preferred.
Step 8: Dip the end of your nail art pen in nail varnish remover. Use this to remove any excess colour on your nail beds or fingertips to refine your look.
Home made facemasks
For something a little different, why not try making your own facemasks? There are hundreds of ideas on Pinterest, and here are some of my favourites.
After you’ve washed off your facemask, it’s time to moisturise! I’ve been using Garnier’s Pure Active Anti Imperfection daily moisturiser (for oily skin), and it’s great at targeting problem skin, especially after cleansing and toning. Another plus – it smells amazing! A really fresh, cucumber scent – one of my favourites.
Cuddle up with a film. Or, hide behind a pillow!
Halloween wouldn’t be the same without a good scary movie. Growing up I loved watching ‘Hocus Pocus’ with my sisters, but I’ve been looking for something new to watch this year. I’d recommend ‘Dracula Untold’, starring Luke Evans and Dominic Cooper. I won’t give too much away, but it looks and sounds great! Plus it’s only rated 15, so it’s not too scary…!
Are you heading out this Halloween, or staying in? Let me know!
Also, thanks to the guys at #HQScare for sending me some great Halloween treats to get in the spooky mood!
