Being a confident person is a great thing. Even if you have zero confidence at the moment, you can develop it with practice. Don’t get confused between confidence and arrogance though; they are two very different things! These tips will help you to become a much more confident person:
Think of the Things You Love About Yourself
If you don’t have things you love about yourself, find things. Write things down – anything you can think of. You might have a gorgeous smile, perfectly clear skin, long nails, or an amazing sense of humour. Write every little thing down so you can look back whenever you feel down. You can’t feel down when there are so many great things about you!
Dress to Feel Confident
The way we dress can often impact our confidence.. Make sure you wear clothes that help you to feel as confident as possible. Find colours and styles that make you feel good about yourself and fill your wardrobe with them. I always find that I feel differently when I make an effort with my appearance than when I don’t bother.
Walk tall with your shoulders back and head held high. Even if you don’t feel confident, you’ll at least look like you are. Eventually, you might even start to feel more confident this way. Never stare at the floor when you walk!
Fake it Until You Make it
Think confident thoughts in your head and eventually you’ll begin to feel more confident. This is a trick that has been around for a very long time, because it really works! People use it for all kinds of things. People even say that you should act like you have the job you want rather than the one you have, and you’ll automatically attract it. Try it and you might be surprised at what happens!
Exercise and Eat Right
When you exercise, the body releases endorphins. These helps us to feel happier and more confident almost immediately, and the more you do it the better you’ll feel in the long run. Eating right can also affect our mood. When you pair the two, you’ll look and feel absolutely amazing!
Think of Ways You Can Improve
If you’re not happy with something about yourself, change it. Take a class, read a book, watch a tutorial – do something! You can become anything you want if you just get started. If there’s something you know you can’t change alone, don’t be afraid to see a professional, says Dr Amanda Wong.
Do More of the Things that Scare You
When you do more things that scare you, you constantly stay outside of your comfort zone. Staying inside of your comfort zone is nice, but it never did anybody any favours. Do more things that scare you and you’ll feel so much more confident and develop as a person!
Use these tips and you’re bound to feel so much more confident in no time at all. Any tips of your own? I’d love to hear your thoughts below!
